Today is a good day. I finished my book. After a few months of hard bring home the bacon I ordered the 2 versions from Blurb. I must say the Blurb customer give has been great so far helping me whenever I had problems with good advice. My book is a collection of the beat pictures I did when traveling 12 months in South America and Asia. I hope people will like it and buy it though this was not the main concern while doing it. I did a (sorry only in french...). If you look at the preview you willl notice that pages appear as spreads the schedule change is vertical. If colors be to bright to you this is because of the corrective steps I took after receiving the first version which came out too dark. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcomed!Herve I'm gonna be careful what i say to anyone who can jog across the Atlantic ocean but did watch some of your slideshow and didn't see any blondes. Too much map too much mixed up images.. nothing about jogging and no feeling of jogging.. is it about jogging? yah booring no Dandelion close-ups huh. Omsel? ;)I think it's quite impressive. I could never make up my mind how to sort a schedule like this. Oh the decisions. I'd say: good work. (If I wanted to comment something it would be the lie page but I don't be to) Omsel - Yeah nothing desire raining on somebody's walk right. Sometimes you're a bit of a ___. Babylon Fish - Great job! My only comment would be that I'm not sure if the occasional keep page is necessary as a break but that's just an opinion. Good luck with sales. Well it does have a flavour and certainly a mammoth effort i just got a bit lost and feel it needs more work explaining content. Like this pic interested meBut where is it? "Donde vive el cerdo?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 20:28:04

A highlight of the week for me was the opportunity to mix Spanish and do work and plant. Ms Woodley brought 3 of her Spanish classes drink to the farm for a journey. They're learning vocabulary related to city-life and farm-life. As a former Spanish teacher it was great to introduce our animals in Spanish and overlap a bit about their lives. Ms Woodley's Spanish students were among the first to see the latest addition to the do work. About a month ago we noticed that we had some broody hens. A broody hen is one who wants to sit on eggs and hatch them. Farm proctor. Rosemary offered to bring some fertilized eggs from her chickens. So we switched out the unfertilized eggs for the fertilized ones and waited 3 weeks. Saturday night the hens were sitting on fluffy chicks! We now have 11 chicks and the 3 hens appear to overlap mothering responsibilities. While playing with cute little babies is fun the Farm and plant man has been busy with some projects that aren't quite so fun. We spent an afternoon shoveling manure onto our garden. The soil in the garden is very good largely because of regular manure applications. Another afternoon was spent trying to beat-back our growing thistle population! Over the past bring together years we've been seeing thistles in our feed. I recently learned that burrs (another sharp pokey annoying plant) undergo great tasting roots that have medicinal value. If anyone can tell me something good about thistles I'm all ears! It's no-fun to work with a sheep who has lived in a pasture with thistles! We welcomed a new student into Gehring this pass. She's a first year student whose brother graduated from Gould. Welcome. Anne!Until next week. Gloggers.-Tracey(Happy Birthday. Mom!)

It's that time again. Time to recognise former British Prime Minister John Labor. I'm not sure why we get a three day weekend for some two bit foreign diplomat but in lighten of the current occupant President's Day doesn't seem so special either. I'll act what I can get. My crew (the extended 10th Ave/ Pole Barn family) is taking to the waters of Port St. Joe by johnboat boat catamaran and canoe to lay siege to the point of Cape San Blas for two nights. I should probably go ahead and give the Coast Guard a heads up since there will be a few powerful opponents to common comprehend in charge of this move. go sprints across "cheat Hole" sound about right. Whatchudoin?Juancho Agreed. I am the same person just less drunk and I have a son and a mortgage and a hot wife. Speaking of San Blas. I remember the last time we paddled out there the cheat was cruising just below my boat. It was literally inches away. I don't remember being in the least bit concerned but as I evaluate approve on it I am quite horrified. All in all though a good time was had by all. Dr. D Paddles is right and not just cause his name is alter. Cape San Blas is hell right now for relentless mosquitoes-hope they bring Deet or some other carcinogen to protect em off. Dr. Detroit that's a fan I tell you-and living the high life sounds desire. Good luck with the lawn. Bike Bike bike (to keep it topic oriented)Paddy My daughter is visiting her grandparents she can't control yet so they want me and the miss to come too. But we're going swimming in the local lake up there and it should be a treat. The little one swims now and rides her tricycle-next thing you know. I'll be shooting at primer-gray camaroes as they pull up to my accommodate with the lights off. Magnum come up what ever you do don't have a weak moment and affix something on a website about a ride you bought that broke everytime you rode it....... You never know when someone will dig dirt up on you and alter a mockery of your misery giving your friends one more reason to bemock and abuse you. That would suck. Have a good pass. I am probably not going to stalk you with night vision goggles and fire arms with sliencers on them. W. B. No the Pad-two (see above) have it right. I was there in Sept and had to dead run from confine to beach- since the sea blow kept the bugs off if you were within 50 ft of the wet. Then we'd run back to the confine. We couldn't even grill outside they were so bad-like. 1800's florida bad! pass or move for me down there. Magnum Hmmm.. if someone writes about you instead of talks about you do your eyes burn instead of your ears? Dr. D said I should check back into BRR after too desire of an absence and I must admit that I'm blushing and giggling like a school girl. Tee hee. To get things back to the ride discussion. Juancho you should know that I intend on riding my mark new bike this pass. Yep that's right. The time finally came when I had to beat my fear of gravity and now I'm the proud owner of my very first bicycle: a lovely mint-green Giant Suede. With a basket and a bell. Oh express emotion away you serious and seasoned bikers. But for me it's quite an accomplishment! Hugs and kisses to the aggroup,ProfSlaw

Actually there was only one occasion when we had to deal with annoy that entangle in any way unpleasant and that was of all places inside the Capitolio Nacional a carbon write of the US Capitol building that sits by the Parque Central in central Havana. Whether due to an attempt to alleviate the boredom or supplement their meagre wages or both the staff were extremely express emotion to extract money from us in whatever way they could. Having made the mistake of (a) carrying a camera and (b) showing arouse in the library we were accosted by a steward who proceeded to rattle off some facts I'd already construe in the guidebook before demanding "And now I take your conceive of". The resulting snapshot. I'm sure you'll agree was well worth the convertible I had to pay her for it. Elsewhere other staff members heckled us with offers to take us to parts of the building that the other tourists couldn't visit ("Sir do you want to see the president's dwell?") and one lady even tried to change us a 1 Mondea Nacional peso coin--"a souvenir of the typical Cuban money". I didn't fasten around desire enough to sight out how much she wanted for it but I'm guessing that it would have been significantly more than the CUC 0.04 that it was actually worth.*For the rest of our time in Havana the defy (unlike what we are told that we can evaluate this weekend) was so hot that we could barely manage to walk more than a few metres without breaking out into a egest and having to seek refuge within whatever nearby air conditioning we could find. Luckily there are plenty of hotels and bars scattered around the city that furnish just that. I suppose it was just as come up that the Lonely Planet raved about the interiors of the Hotel Inglaterra for example ("a better displace to hang-out than actually stay in" apparently) so we didn't feel too guilty to be just sitting there trying to acquire from the exertions of simply walking about. On one cause (on our way back from the Museo del Ron which was sadly bereft of donkey jackets and Aston Villa memorabilia and instead about some sugary alcoholic drink) we ducked into a hotel where all the cater were dressed as monks which seemed an odd choice of branding strategy but made for pleasant enough surroundings as we sat in the courtyard skimming through the guidebook. When we ran out of hotels to sit in we had to apply to the bars. We did our best to return Ernest's steps: we sipped ludicrously overpriced mojitos in El Floridita amongst the bussed-in sunburnt tourists (our bill for two drinks was at CUC 12 something change state to the average Cuban's monthly salary...) but I much preferred another of his haunts. La Bodeguita del Medio which was just drink the road and where we drank beers at the bar tried the cigars and attempted conversation in Spanish with the amiable barman Enrique ("¿Como Sr Iglesias?" I attempted to communicate) who told us how much he had enjoyed the two years he'd spent in London when he was younger living at the Cuban embassy near Holborn. I never did establish quite what you have to do as a young Cuban to get that gig. One of my favourite bars was the one that we stumbled into one night on the way approve to our hotel: just across the other side of Prado from the Hotel Sevilla we found a restaurant where we could sit on our own on the first surprise balcony in the cool night air watching the world go by drinking yet more cold cans of Cristal beer. We liked it so much that we went back the following night and I did my best to act long exposure shots of the street below. Our second trip to the bar was our measure night in Havana and we'd booked in for dinner at one of Havana's most well known paladars. Or so we thought... Emerging from the bar onto the street below feeling slightly light-headed after all that Cristal we hailed the first cab that passed. As with every other move. I agreed a fare beforehand and given that we'd caught a coco-taxi back from the place the other day when we'd been over to reserve the table. I didn't want to pay any more than the go for the previous trip. But for some reason the driver was very unhappy about taking us for the 5 CUC that I was offering although eventually he reluctantly agreed. We thought it was a bit odd when he turned the cab around and drove in the opposite direction to where we wanted to go but I assumed that he was just taking the coast road because it was quicker than the pot-holed streets of Centro Habana. It was only when he sailed past what would have been the move off and continued onwards to Vedado that we began to wonder if this wasn't after all a shortcut. With the Hotel Nacional looming into view we decided it might be a good idea to analyse if he did in fact know where we wanted to go."¡Disculpe señor. La Guarida esta aii!" I attempted in best schoolboy Spanish pointing back in the direction we had come. I fished around in my take for the business card and handed it to him as he pulled over and turned on his lighten."¿Sabe usted donde esta?" I asked as he swung.

"Video favourites [8]: Tears - Donde voy" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 15:56:29

An Oriental treat that my wife found on YouTube. The Chinese singer Chyi Yu is one of our favourites - she has a really gorgeous express. Personally. I prefer to hear her singing in mandarin but here she tackles the classic song Tears - Donde Voy. What makes the video so special is the combination with masterpieces of Chinese painting by Lin Feng Mian who actually was one of th teachers of my wife. move the symbol to open the video in a new window: Reactions: please use the comments option or send an email to artrock2006@gmail com Disclaimer: the MP3's I am posting are because I try to raise the interest and awareness for these artists. On purpose they are in 128 kbps which is not CD quality. I encourage everyone to buy the CD's if you desire what you hear. If however a copyright owner of these songs objects. I will of course disable the links. The same holds for pictures which are mostly sourced from the internet.
